Taking Care of your Stamping Products
Here are some of the things I do to take care of my own Stamping products and make things easier:
1) Store your ink pads in a dark, cool place. Extreme heat, sunlight, or cold can dry out your ink pads, and render them unusable.
2) If you own Stampin' Spots, or other companies' stamp pads, store them upside down, to allow the ink to stay at the surface of the stamp pad.
3) Wash out your Stampin' Scrub pads every 4th or 5th time you stamp, or when you notice it getting "muddy". Just pop the pads out, (I use a butter knife) and gently rub the ink away under warm running water. Never use soap, or put them in the dishwasher. Towel dry, or dry upright overnight.
4) When you get a bottle of Stampin' Mist, pour half into a small container, (label it) and fill the mister up with water. This will stretch your mist farther.
5) Make a small booklet of punched images from all your Stampin' Up punches, so you can easily measure images in the catalogue and figure out which stamp sets work best with your punches. Many are made to work together.
6) Do the same as #5 above with your Big Shot dies, and Circle Cutter Bee.
7) If you have stamp sets that are hard to fit back in the plastic case (somewhat of a puzzle), try stamping the images on the inside bottom of the case with StazOn ink, so you always know where to put the stamps back.
8) When your scissors get sticky, use a product like Goo-Gone or Goof-Off (available at hardward stores) to remove the sticky residue. It works great!
